The WNAC series of piezoelectric amplification actuators are based on a low-pressure piezoelectric actuator stack and are ideal for systems requiring lighter actuators with temperature stability and high resonant frequencies. The unique structure makes the actuator more compact. Lighter weight and optimized stiffness mean higher mechanical resonance, allowing higher frequency operation.

Temperature stability

The temperature is stable.
Differences in thermal expansion between the ceramics and other materials in the assembly will result in changes in force redistribution as the temperature varies. This will lead to changes in internal preload. However, WNAC series of piezoelectric amplification actuators will not change the output displacement due to the change of temperature.

Principle
WNAC Series Piezoelectric Amplifier Actuators are based on four piezoelectric ceramic stacks connected in pairs. Each piezoelectric ceramic stack is hinged at its end and held in place at a small angle.
When the voltage applied to one pair of piezoelectric ceramic stacks increases, the voltage applied to the other pair of piezoelectric ceramic stacks decreases.
This facilitates the movement of the output member in one direction. It should be noted that in the case of free displacement, the tension in piezoelectric ceramics and stacks and the tension (preload) in tension members remain almost constant. This means that strain energy is directly transferred from the piezoelectric ceramic stack to the output. In addition, the structure does not bear high bending quality, so it is not easy to fatigue.
