A device for making slices for microscopic observation. The tissue is supported by a hard paraffin or other material, and is automatically advanced forward (in the direction of the knife) by a slice thickness gauge with a gradient of 1 micron every time it is cut. When paraffin-embedded tissue is cut, a slice strip of multiple slices is made due to adhesion with the wax edge of the previous slice.
