Low-pressure cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic actuator is designed by encapsulating low-pressure piezoelectric ceramic stack inside, protecting the outside by cylindrical stainless steel shell, and applying pre-tightening force to piezoelectric ceramic stack through mechanical shell. Higher internal mechanical pre-loading force can be applied to high load and high dynamic applications. It can output the displacement and output produced by piezoelectric ceramic stacking, and can bear certain pulling force.

Direct drive structure
Piezoelectric ceramic actuator adopts piezoelectric ceramic direct drive structure, which is characterized by large output and fast response speed, and can be equipped with sensors for closed-loop feedback. The top and bottom of the encapsulated piezoelectric actuator are respectively fixed by threads, and the fixing methods can be customized, such as external threads, internal threads, ball heads, flat heads, etc.
 
Open-loop versus closed-loop
Packaged piezoelectric ceramic actuators can be divided into open-loop (no positioning feedback sensor) and closed-loop (integrated positioning feedback sensor) versions. In open loop, its resolution is infinitely high, which is only limited by the noise of control equipment. However, due to the hysteresis and creep characteristics of piezoelectric ceramics, its repeatability and stability are low. The closed-loop version can eliminate hysteresis and creep to make it linear.
